I always rinse every stone after using it. I also rinse each blade well after coming off a stone before moving to the next stone.

Thanked: 154Like Birnando, I clean my hones with tap water. Generally I hold the hone upside-down over the sink and lift water in a cupped hand to it so that the swarf rinses away with gravity. Seems less messy that way, too.
