Thread: Honemeister in Minnesota?

Hey, all. I introduced myself a while back in a different forum. I currently live as a missionary on an under-developed island in the Caribbean and chose this time in my life to try to get into straight razor shaving. This site has been a lifesaver.

I had a visiting friend get me a razor and a strop from an antique store in Duluth and bring them to me. When he'd returned to the States, I started looking at it and realized it was far too rusty and dull to use as is. So, I sent it home with another visiting friend on a mission team. The old razor is currently in Tyler, MN, awaiting my instructions as to where to mail it to get honed. Any suggestions?

I'll be visiting Duluth for 4 days in September and hope to have the honed razor and a good tube of cream, waiting for me when I get there, so I can bring it back with me. Any thoughts on how long the sending, honing, and return process takes?

I would recommend reaching out to RandyDance. I believe he lives in either MN or WI. In the alternative, if you want to have your friend mail it to me in Virginia, I'll send it back to him to await your arrival. No charge for the honing, of course!

Wow! Well, I'll just take you up on that, then. If you email me your address, I'll tell my friend to send it along to you. Enclosed will be the return address, as well, since it will be returning to Northern Minnesota instead. As for not charging for the honing, are you sure? I fully expected to have to pay...

Also, where would you suggest I get a tube of not-too-expensive-but-not-too-crappy shave cream? This site? I know there's nothing in Minnesota, because I called every barber in my home town.

I deleted your email address in your OP. Spam bots harvest email addresses on forums and you end up with multiple spam emails . I changed it to send a PM so keep an eye on your notifications.
