    Default overhoned razor how i "reset" the sharpness?

    i have probably overhoned my razor....how i can "reset" the sharpness??

    with the wetted thumb?

    how i can operate?

    mparker cuts through a sheet of paper. i have run the blade lightly on a match (soft wood). some backhoning laps on the 4K afterr this should get you back in the game (meaning you can hone again)

    What causes you to think you have over-honed your razor? Also, don't use your thumb, wet or dry, to "reset" your razors edge.

    In the instances where I've developed a wire edge I got rid of it by taking a careful slice through thin cardboard. Then rehone.

    If you suspect a wire edge it can be repaired with one stroke on each side, or pass if you will, on 4K or you can back hone. I prefer two backhoning passes on 8K myself. Then begin rehoning and use fewer passes between test shaves to ensure you don't overhone the razor again.
