    Default First try at honing

Well, I finally worked up the nerve to put a blade to the stone. My Boker hollow ground seemed liked it needed touched up so I decided to go for it. I have read many posts here about honing and decided to use the stones I own, a 6K water stone and a Chinese 12K. Worked out pretty good, Lynn doesn't need to worry about me being competition, but the results are fine. Finished up with a Chromium Oxide strop and regular stropping.
    Lynn and Hirlau like this.

Depending on your beard type is usually how often you will need to touch up..sometimes once every. 2 months does the trick regardless..enjoy the SR journey

I think that initial fear of ruining a blade was the toughest for me to overcome. good on you!
