    I don't think I understand your question. Do you have a design on the blade (called etching) that you don't want to damage?

    If your razor is hollow ground, as it probably is, the design won't touch the hone. Just the edge and the spine will touch.

    If you have put 300 additional laps on your razor then perform a shave test. Do not use more than 100 for the next honing session. 300 is a lot of strokes.

    Put some electrical tape on the spine to stop the hairline scratches.

    Only shave with the grain until your razor is very sharp. Do not shave against the grain anymore.
