    Received my blades back from Mike (Modine)... what an excellent job he did for me on these!! Had my first shave with one this morning using my STAR "Victorian" lather-catcher razor and got an excellent, close shave. The feel of the blade was definitely different from the modern single-edge blades, but I believe it gave a closer shave even though I only did two WTG and one XTG pass. Getting the angle down was a little tricky but not too bad as I got no nicks or cuts. Very enjoyable shave from a 100+ year old razor and blade. Thanks again, Mike

    It helpse to keep a shallow angle when shaving with the Lather Catchers IMO. SRP member Geezer has quite a collection of these beautiful razors. Here is the progression used, I hope this may help. Enjoy.

    Final finish on brown thuringian-esque w/oil


    1 layer of tape had been applied.


    no shave test conducted, visual inspection only..
