    Default 9 micron paste?

Has anyone ever used 9 micron paste to create a bevel?

Is there some sort of rule that pastes are just for refining an edge, not establishing one?

It's not really a rule, more like a suggestion...

Because the edge established with a paste is unsatisfactory? Is this because of the risk of a slightly rounded edge when stropping on pasted leather? If so, what if you use the 9 micron on hard wood?

The major reason is that the use of a hone or sandpaper is simply much faster.
