    Default Help with touch ups.

So I am very new to this so i will just start at the beginning. I've been wet shaving for about a year now, and a few months ago I took the plunge and got a Dovo best quality full hollow razor. It didn't come shave ready so I got the Norton 4x8 and 1x220 and attempted to hone my razor for several weeks with no success. After my frustration passed I decided to send it to Lynn to get it done right.

I have no doubt on the quality of his work and I have extremely happy with the results. My question is once the pasted strop just doesn't do the job anymore what would be a good touch up routine on the stones I have to keep the edge this fantastic? Can I just do a touch up or do I have to reset the bevel?

Once again I am new to this so a very detailed routine would be much appreciated. Should I do circles? X strokes? How many strokes for each etc.

once again any and all help would be much appreciated.

Normally i suggest that you have two straight razors. But a little barbers hone will keep that blade fresh. Do you have a Strop?

Yes. I have a three inch premier strop with a leather side, a webbing side, and on the other side of the webbing I coated with chromium oxide paste.

A few light strokes on the 8K will normally be enough, do ten laps, strop and shave, if necessary, repeat utill it's where you wan't it. Just stick with straight back and forth or x-strokes for now.
