    Default Veho USB scope advise

I have just received a Veho, USB scope. Any of you who have been using them have any advice to cut down the learning curve? I have read the Veho posts here and noted most are a year or more old.

I am wondering about background colors, lighting, razor/scope positioning and holders for repeatable comparison photographs.

    Thanks

    Marty

    Default

I use one and learned this:

Place the razor on a dark/black back round.
Have lighting that can be moved.
Don't move the razor, move the veho.
Adjusting the light from all sides seems to help.
I have five 100 watt incandescent lights and one 60 watt tungsten light.
    Be patient, move slowly.

Here is an example of the pictures I was able to take.

    Default Veho USB scope advise

I've had mine for at least a year and its the GREATEST thing ever for honing. Make sure everything is tight, especially the screw on the forked piece that holds the scope. I took a piece of electrical tape and taped the base to my bench. That stops it from tipping. I found the background or ambient light don't make much difference.

Here's a post I just made with some of the pics:
