Mixing Stones
I have some Naniwa SS but have 2 razors that have been honed on Shapton ceramic stones. I just plan on retouching them when they need it. I've read that Shaptons don't play well with others. So my question is should I get a Shapton 16k for touch ups or use the Naniwa 12K that I already have?

Use the Naniwa, unless you just need to feed the H.A.D.

I routinely mix Nortons, Naniwas and Shaptons without an issue.

No issue mixing the stones but why don't you go ahead and get comfortable with your existing 12k, enjoying your shaves and then give some thought to a higher grit stone. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks guys. I wasn't sure and I didn't want to do something that might mess up the blades.

One bit about stones not mixing and playing with others comes from a non standardized grit issue. When keeping in one family you know your progression will be smooth and at the grits you think they are. When you just around and only looking at the marked grit level you may find some incosistancies. For instance my norton 8k has the same polish as my shapton CS 3k, but not the same shave So confussion spreds and it's easy to get a headache thinking on it to long.
Play by feel of the stone and you will have less problems mixing and matching
