Thanked: 0Bent blade/badly ground razor??
I have a "Dovo Best Quality" which is the first razor I have been trying to hone, I have a north 220/1k and 4k/8k. After a couple of sessions trying to hone it following some video guides I still can't get it to cut through arm hair. When I look down from the front of the blade it seems to be bent to the left. I was wondering if this could affect honing and possible ways this could be solved.
Thanks in advance.

Thanked: 1For what it's worth, I recently (11/12) purchased a new razor of the same make and model. After having difficulty establishing a proper edge by honing, i had it evaluated by a master blade smith. He informed me that the blade was indeed bent, a bend which he surmised happened during the manufacture of the blade. I have returned the razor and am currently awaiting a replacement or refund. I didn't want to risk shaving with a bent razor, nor hassle with cumbersome honing every time I needed to touch it up.
