    Default Question after Lynn's DVD

In the video Lynn always moves from heal to toe of the blade. He makes a point of clearly saying to do this.

It would seem that this would result, over time, in more metal being removed from the toe than the heal.

I suspect it is more likely that I have miss understood something than Lynn is mistaken.

Would one please help me understand exactly what is happening here?

    Thanks,
    David

Lynn made that DVD years ago and it is still great to pick up pointers. Since then he has advanced into new territory and has developed a method of circle honing that supersedes the former pyramid honing. There is a way to do heel to point honing where all of the blade gets the attention it needs but the circles are a very good way to go. This vid uses Shaptons but the same applies to the nortons.
