Default white hard and surgical arkansas

I was wondering why some of the straight razor sites still sell these as hones. I know you can use them to put a burr on the razor before honing on 4k/8k, but some websites actually recommend them for the final polish, and as far as I know most of these stones range from only 800 to 2000 grit. Since I joined SRP, I have learned that that is not enough from reading post. Any ideas?

I'd use them on cooking knives but not on finishing anything I'd shave with.

Before I joined SRP the black Arkansas was my only hone. It does the job but is too slow.
