Thread: Need Somebody Who Can Hone In Either Wellington or Tallahassee Area

Hey guys,

I'm brand new to straight shaving. Just got my first straight razor yesterday for Christmas. This site has been awesome because it's taught me pretty much everything I needed to know before actually getting the straight razor. Alright, cutting to the point. The razor was marked "shave ready", but when I shaved with it, it became obvious that it wasn't. I think that it needs to be honed. Does anybody know of any place that I could get my new razor honed around the Wellington area or Tallahassee area? I go to FSU, but live in Wellington so if anybody knows of any place in either of those areas that I could get my razor honed it would be much appreciated.

I too have received a few blades for Xmas from an antique store. They need to be cleaned and would like to have then honed before using. Anyone in California area that can assist?
