Thread: Toe sharpening

I am finding that whatever shape toe the razor has, that I can't get the toe as sharp as the rest of the blade. What am I doing wrong and what do I need to do to correct it?

what kind of stroke are you using?
Use the magic marker trick to see what stroke will get the length of the bevel up to the toe tip.
In general rolling x stroke will help to get all of the bevel, it is most useful on blades that have some warp

Magic Marker Test: Use a "Magic Marker" to blacken the edge of the razor. Make a few strokes on your hone and see where you're making contact with the hone. If the toe isn't making contact, adjust your stroke to a more rolling x-stroke. Confusion, me at first!
