    Question Naniwa lapping plate 220 ​​GRIT

    I have a Naniwa 1000.3000 5000, 8000 & 12000 Grit Stones and Naniwa lapping plate 220 ​​GRIT, big size. I've read that lapping plate should be lapped before use, how it should be done.

    I have the exact same set of Naniwa SS you do, as well as the 220 lapping plate.

    I am lapping all my Naniwas according to this method here:

    In this video, Geofatboy is using Norton stones but the same process applies to Naniwas. I do however like to put the stone flat on the table and do 8s with the lapping plate on it.
