    Default Paste after honing

What I have been doing is after I come off of my Naniwa 12k I do 100 laps on a red Dovo pasted paddle strop followed by 50 or so on black paste followed by 5 laps on Cromium Oxide then go to the hanging strop with 50 linen 25 on tacky leather then 50 on a smoother finishing leather. I understand the red Dovo paste is a real slow cutter so you have to do a lot of laps. Is this excessive?

Yes Honestly I have never done more then 15 laps on any paste including the Dovo pastes.. Coming off the Naniwa SS I head to the Cerium Oxide which makes Dovo pastes look downright speedy and do 8 laps...
I would drop the Dovo stuff out of the equation off the 12k..

Gotcha! So more than likely I have done more harm than good? Glad to hear honestly doing 100 on the paddle was getting to be a PITA.

I tell ya one of Lynn's famous sayings is "Less is More" and when it comes to pastes I wholeheartedly agree 100%

    No, not at all,,,,,
now if you had added another 6 strokes on a barber's hone, well then, that would have been excessive.

This may be why I have seemed to have regressed a bit with my edges. Now that I think about it I started to notice my edges weren't quite as keen about the time I started using that stuff that way.
