    Back on topic. Could my 'idea' work for refreshing a razor? Taking it right to your finisher with an additional piece of tape?

    Try it with a couple of them and report back when you've come to a conclusion.

    Funny the double bevel question came up, I had not done one in at least 2 years, and last week out of the blue I get a TZ and a couple of TI's in with a request for Double bevels and a Shapton progression.. I used the 16k and 30k on the seconadary bevel with pleasing results...

    I have never really given much more credence to it more than using two pieces of tape all the way through, but it is fun to mess with

    I honed 8 razors with tape, and recently touched up those 8 razors without tape (it had been so long since they were honed I forgot about the tape). All 8 shave like a dream. Silky smooth and effortless on my wiry stubble. Probably would have been the same with tape.
