Pyramid honing method?

Yea the JaNorton threads and videos are priceless. Check out videos on Yutube. There is a link in the Wiki here on srp that breaks it down easily. You dont necessarily have to start with 25 strokes. I start with 15 and if I have to go up I go up. I love this method. It is quite useful.

I just use the pyramid method for honing and I think it worked great. I will test the blade tonight when I shave. The 1 question I have and what I don't understand most is what do I drop down to if it's not correctly honed? I use nanis so the 3k or the 8k?

I believe u go back to the 8 k .. Few strokes then shave her.. I'm a noob also but that's what I have been told..
