Ok, very excited now. Had a look at gssixguns vids on YouTube with the "one stone hone" method. I'm OM at the moment so only have a Shapton 4&16k with me and a cheap Pakistani razor to practice on but I thought I'd give it a go anyway. Was dubious at the end of the run on the 4k but then at the end of one run on the 16k I could immediately see the difference. So I ran the sequence a couple more times and, look, I'm not saying I'd do a full shave with it at the moment but its very smooth on the sideburns :-)

Congrats Mrnighthawks, yes, that is a good feeling, and you will see your skills and ability to put on and maintain a killer edge will only get better.

Congrats. Once you get a regimen you like down, you'll only need to tweak it a bit for each razor, but now have a solid foundation to start with.

Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.
