    Default warped razor honing

I'm trying to hone a razor. I put it on the norton and i noticed its not sitting flat on the stone. The razor is warped so i tried honing it pyramid style. Bevel seems.to b set water displacement seemed to b OK. All my strokes were x strokes. Tried shaving with it.not pulling but not sharp either. Can i warped razor b honed? And better can i.shave with
    it.

Certainly a warped razor can be honed (of course I'm not talking about something extreme) but usually they are within a narrow range. Most folks use a rocking motion as they hone. It's been discussed before and I'm sure we have some video's on it.

I agree with TBS. As long as the warp is not extreme (and IME there's a fair bit of scope in there, and in fact I've yet to come across one that was completely impossible to hone) you can deal with it by using a "rolling X stroke". Some people prefer a narrow hone to do it on, but again IME it can be done fine on your non-narrow hones.

And, as TBS has said, it is just way easier to see it on a video than it is to try to describe the motion in words (I've tried it in the past and failed miserably each time). So try searching out videos on the "rolling X" or "rocking X" stroke. I think perhaps Lynn or Glen may have videos on it somewhere.

    Good luck.

    James.
