    Default quick question on lapping

Say that I lap today and go through the whole razor sharpening process. Now tomorrow I want to go through the same process with a different razor. Do I have to lap the stones again or because they're so close together can I just leave them be?
Thanks in advance for all the answers!

Lapping for flatness is one aspect

Lapping to refresh the hone is another. the top of the hone has to be cleaned so that the new grit is exposed , and the steel particles are washed away (Loading)

I simply do 5 figure 8's with the DMT 325 between each razor, it is not really necessary to refresh before each one but it keeps the hone fresh, I haven't lapped for flatness in years, and I have slurry to mess with if I want to..

Okay sounds good thanks Glen! So it essentially should still be flat from yesterday then right?

    Very good point Glenn.
In order to perform at its best the hone's surface needs to be refreshed.
That knowledge would have saved me a lot of time and aggravation while learning to hone.
I made many many passes on a dirty/loaded stone when a few passes on a freshly lapped stone would have done the job quickly.
