    Thank you for your advice. I just cleaned up my razor and touched it up with Cr2O3 on balsa paddle. It is popping hair easily over the entire length of the blade. So before next shave I will strop conservatively on a hanging strop that should arrive soon. I am just wondering if one can strop too much, whether there is an optimum?

    Every one has his or her own likes as far as stropping is concerned.
    just my tu'nece worth but I like to do 40/60 on one of several strops that I own, my black Latigo is one of my favorites.

    With good technique you could strop all day, at the start I found the longer I stropped the more likely I was to make a poor stroke though. I count about 20-30 strokes on the strop and then use the force from then on in.
