Hard Felt Density
I'm buying some hard felt to use for pasted bench strops. The felt comes in different thicknesses (1/16", 1/8", 1/4", 1/2" and up). I don't think I need a really thick felt if I'm putting it on a piece of wood for a bench strop. It also comes in different densities, soft, medium, or hard. Does anyone know what density is the best. I guess I should just go with medium but wanted to check if there was a "go-to" density. I got a hanging strop from star shaving that has a felt strop and I have no idea what density it is. Any thoughts?
