    i bought it from amazon.com..not .ca, about 100$

    It seems to be cheaper from Lee Valley. I guess I am going to give honing a try.

    Other things to watch out for:

    - for the 4k/8k, there's no better well of information than this: http://straightrazorpalace.com/honin...on-2012-a.html
    - make sure you lap the stone flat before use. This can be done cheaply with a FLAT (not kinda flat, but truly flat: marble tile, glass/ceramic cooktop, etc) and some wet/dry sandpaper. See here for a guide: Hone Lapping 101 - Straight Razor Place Wiki
    - take your time, relax, and enjoy the process

    I am in Montreal and I can hone razors. I can give you a hand and get your razor shaving nicely again. I have sold a few razors that I have honed myself via the classifieds.
