3 or 4 razors at one time. The razors that needs a new edge begins whit the 1k and so up to 12k
If there razors are that only need a touch up they jump in by 8 or 12k.
Ready whit 1k i put it out of sight.

Most of the time i hone in the evening, i dont stop until I am satisfied whit the sharpnes.

Yup, this is usually my approach as well.

Same as Jimbo and Birnando - besides, I generally use tape and prolonged wet times where the water seems to 'cling' or seep under the very edge of the tape often left a line that had to be polished out.

One at a time for me as well. I only hone for myself so there is no backlog or deadline to meet.

You could use Sharpie markers. Sharpie will withstand water but wipes right off with alcohol.
One time, in band camp, I shaved with a Gold Dollar razor.

I hone one at a time as well even if I have multiple razors in the queue, I like treat each razor as an individual project.

I found it difficult to manage the pressure I use at different parts of the progression or grit level honing several razors to any particular stage then moving on.

+1 - this is one of the reasons I like to do one at a time. I always tape other people's razors unless they explicitly request otherwise.
