I'm I crazy or?
I just got finished sharpening 3 razors tonight and after honing them I stropped them. I noticed, I think that 2 of the blades seemed to "sing" (for lack of a better word) while stropping and 1 did not. I then tested all 3 and the 2 that "sang" were very sharp definitely shave ready. The 1 that didn't sing was not as sharp and I wouldn't consider it shave ready. Does what I just said make any sense or do I need some bed rest?

I find that hollow ground razors when stropped will make a raspy sound as you strop. True singing as I understand it means you are putting too much pressure on the strop which is not a good thing. But yes they will talk to you. But that doesn't work with wedges. They make no noise at all.

Thanked: 2209A singing razor is usually the result of a very thin full hollow grind and the steel used.
