Got my DMT 325C today and Wowww
Well after been honing for some months now i have always been using the Norton lapping plate to lap my Nortons and Naniwas.
Even though i always read how everyone here uses the Diamond plate but due to the price i had decided to get the Norton.
It just didn't feel that it did the job rite so i bought the DMT and man were you guys on the ball of things.
This thing does a great job fast and easy.
The stones get smooth as butter and the blemishes that the Norton 4000 and 8000 had were gone fast.
Should have listened to you guys at the beginning as the extra dollars are well worth it.
I only have one question.
The paperwork says that after you lap with the coarse side you can flip it over and get the stone smoother with the other finer side.
Does the flip side also have the diamonds and can you do this?
Hope this is not a stupid question but thanks again.*****HAVE A GREAT SHAVE*****

Thanked: 1184Did you lap the Norton lapper ? Mine works fine but when I get a natural stone I will convert for sure.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I probably should have read my DMT instructions, there are no diamonds on the back side of the 325C, if there are, then I've been cheated.

There are duo-DMT's two grits, one plate. I've never had one or seen one, but you can read a little about it using the search function at the top right, search 2 sided DMT . I suspect the instructions are just generic and cover both types, even if a little confusing. You won't regret that you got the DMT!! Have fun!!

The DMT 325 is invaluable if you're going to be honing with any sort of regularity IMHO...Congrats, you'll be glad you have it!!

Hang on and enjoy the ride...
