    You cannot go wrong with any of the "Big Three" synthetic stones: Naniwa, Norton, or Shapton. After that, it's all about preference. I listed the synthetics in alphabetical order, but by my experience it's the order of hardness as well...you can't go wrong with any of them.

    Why not get an edge finished from the stone in question before buying and decide if you like the feel.
