Default Who here hones razors FOR people?

I've got a real trouble razor (IMO) and another one that just seems like it needs a little time on the stones. I've got my set of Norton's but neither the patience nor time to get into edge restoration. I've discovered I don't have much trouble with UPKEEP it's just the long agonizing process of getting a butter knife to shave. I want to add them to my rotation but unless I get someone to hone them for me I'm not going to hold my breath on that.

So here's the deal, I'm wondering who among us provides sharpening services? I know Lynn does through CS but I imagine he's hellish busy with it, someone suggested Joe Chandler, and I also know Bruno has developed some skill for honing particularly uncooperative blades. Is there a list of guys who do this someplace I haven't found, maybe with pricing? Or is this just going to be a "VIA PM" topic?

Any of the big guys should feel free to pipe in here (Joe and Lynn) if they don't feel like they're too busy to handle a couple more razors as I'd be happy to send them off as soon as possible.

I believe Glen (FUD) is doing some razors pro bono (but I'm not 100% sure if the promotion is still on).

Send them to me. I'd be happy to hone them for you, no charge. Just PM me and we can go over details.

I as well would be happy to hone one up free of charge. I only ask that you pay shipping to and from.

And this is why I love this place...

So far I've had offers for pro bono service from 4 people and hearty responses with more than affordable rates from several others. In fact at THIS point I'm wishing I had a few MORE razors to send off! This might sound cheap of me but I actually wish I had the blades to let all of the people who offered to do them for free do one, as well as pay for a few of the others to do one so I could compare and review each ones abilities and service but alas I only own three blades, and one of them is inexpertly honed by myself well enough to give me a good shave.

So here's what I'm going to do...I've decided that since the first actual offer for honing was Bruno (who offered to handle my worst blade for free I might add) and since I don't have enough blades to take advantage of "free" the way I'd like to we have agreed on a price for honing both of my razors. Once I get them back I should have two very well honed razors to work with so I'll be sending my favorite (my Henckel) to Lynn because he seems to be one of the unopposed masters.

However, if I grab a few more razors down the road I'll keep all of you in mind and offer a few bucks here and there to let many people hone my blades as I'd really like to be able to provide some feedback to all of you in turn as well as to the community in general. The way I see it I've got no skills or experience to offer here so if I can provide people with feedback on their skills as well as try to drive business to them then I'll have at least partially repaid the debt I owe to everyone here for helping me get into this wonderful aspect of my day to day life.

Lynn has sharpened one razor for me. I have a co-worker who sent Lynn a razor to sharpen. However, since I am a gentleman, I can't quote what he said upon receiving the razor back from Lynn, although it was like "That fu(&^ is sharp!" Suffice it to say he was VERY happy!
