    Default Razor with uneven edge

I have a razor that seemed to have been honed unevenly - the edge is slightly large towards the point and the wear on the spine is large towards the heel. It's not too bad but noticable. The edge also has a few chips so I'm planning to use 1000 grit sandpaper to fix it. My question is - do I need to pay any special attention to the uneven edge or it should just get fixed if the honing is done properly?

That unevenness should disappear during honing, along with the chipping.
The caveat is that if the spine is significantly worn, the shape of the edge will reflect this.

Thanks. The spine is not too bad. I'm going to tape it before going to the sandpaper.

The important thing here is how does the razor shave? I think most of my razors have uneven bevels including most of my newly purchased razors. If they shave fine I don't monkey with them.

Of course if your really anal about it and demand cosmetic perfection then hone away.
