The razor sharpened up nicely. It is now much sharper than when I received it. I think the next shave will be much smoother.
I'm glad to see that you got this one up to speed. Pre-honed/shave ready razors are in the eyes of the beholder/honer. What was unsatisfactory to you may have been very satisfactory to other clients. That's one reason why I always hone a new razor when I receive it, whether it was pre-honed or not- and no matter who did it, because at least then I can bring it up to an equal place with my other razors.

That's right. I ordered the razor and asked for a shave ready one. Not because I can't hone one by myself, but I wanted to see/feel someone else's hone job, so I was able to compare it with my own honing "skills". With this razor I proofed to myself that I can hone pretty well, if I may say so myself and when I order another razor in the future I will explicitly ask for an untouched edge.
