Thanked: 16Do I Use Tape on a 12k Touchup?
If a razor was honed with tape and I'm doing a touchup on a 12k, do I tape it?

If I honed the razor with tape, I touch up with tape.

Thanked: 16I meant to put this thread under "Honing" and not under "Advanced Honing Topics."

If you have a bunch of razors (not that I do or anything like that!) and hone them yourself, it is crucial to keep a log of what you've done with them in terms of honing progressions and results. This is not only so you remember to use tape or not use it (although I would never do anything like that!), but also because you can review the log to determine which progressions and finishers seemed to provide the best results.

Thanked: 177I hate tape! But if you use it as everyone said you definitely need it to touch up on the 12k or any other hone for that matter.
