Thanked: 0Place in Tokyo where to buy straight razor
Hi All,
My brother is passing by Tokyo for a couple of day, could anyone suggest any "old shop" where to find stright razor(tanifuji-fon-filarmonica...)?
I searched in the forum but didn't find any real addresses.
Could anyone pm any information?
I'd also would liek to know if you have any suggestion for eating and hidden places worth a visit?
Kind regards,
Andrea

I've also been trying to find some places without luck, as I'll be in Japan in October.
What I'm planning is to purchase from one of the Ebay sellers and get it delivered to my hotel room, likewise with a honing stone.Tony

Thanked: 0You should also search in yahoo auction instead of ebay but the problem is to find a real deal.
I hope someone could help us at list with some area info to reduce the range.

Are you looking for western or J-razors?
If you do a search from previous threads you'll find a couple of places. I can't remember anymore the place I used to go. There are two nearby Ginza that are worth a look. Antique markets sometimes have them. And Tokyu Hands has the feather series. If you want scents and the like go to Isetan Mens in Shinjuku, they have a lot. And they possibly sell a Dovo or two.I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

Hi, every Saturday and Sunday there is a huge flea market in a place called Oikebajo.
I have been lucky just a couple of times though. (some de, and some western SR like Puma and other Solingen)
Tokyu Hands is good for some feather stuff, synthetic stones (King, Shapton...) and some low-medium grit natural koppa size stones. What is very easy to get here are japanese aftershaves (Bravas, Auslese, Lucido, Valcan, Vintage and also 4711 Portugal) Every drug store has them and the are very affordable (less than 10$)
