Hi Jim,

Thank you very much for creating this sub-forum. I think many Japan lovers will appreciate it.

I have been learning Japanese for some time, more or less I manage with hiragana / katakana and know a few kanjis, perhaps about 400 or so. Regarding the language, being Spanish my mother tongue, what I have learnt is how steep is the Japanese learning curve, and after learning some Japanese when I look back to other languages like English, French or German, they look at me like a child's game compare to　日本語。
