Thanked: 0Can anyone help me identify my new razor please?
I bought this as a gift for my best man for my wedding in a few weeks. He has a penchant for straight razors and I know that he likes Japanese art so I thought this would be a nice cross-over for him. I would like to be able to give him some information on it at the same time. Unfortunately the seller didn't know much about it. I know it's nothing spectacular but I was hoping someone on here could assist with identifying or dating it.
Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Thanked: 0That would be a nice kamisori style razor. The kanji on the side should be the name of the craftsman that made it. My understanding is that the master blacksmiths in Japan are limited by treaty to only making 2 katana's per month, and they supplement their income and refine their art by making razors like this one and some amazing kitchen cutlery.
