Default Living in Japan / speaking Japanese

I just thought I'd post a roll call again
Anyone here speaking / reading and writing Japanese or living in Japan?

Thanks. I had thought (hoped) there would be a bigger response.

Do you live in Japan for your work?

I watch a lot of japanese movies, tv series, and anime and I try to learn to speak japanese via podcasts etc. from time to time but I have no1 to speak it with so it just fades away if I stop doing the podcasts

I sort of do/did. I've been away for the last year traveling and so on.
    Why? What's on your mind?

Well, when we started this forum, the idea was to have a place where things about the Japanese context regarding shaving, tools, etc could be discussed. Or at least, discussed in terms of 'what does thins kanji mean' or 'where could I buy X', or ...

And there would be someone 'forum lead', which is basically a fancy name to identify someone who is online regularly and participates in the discussions here. Preferably, that person would not only know the language, but also live there.

Jim used to do this, but he has drifted away from the forum and hasn't been here in a long time. So I am looking for someone else to take the lead. A volunteer .

I do. I came over here in March 2007, intending to stay 6 months. Been married almost 4 and a half years with a little one on the way

Thanks for addressing this issue, we sure could use some "Japanese connection".

I am also a resident of Japan.
    I am a Japanese-English translator and interpreter
But I am not active enough to take the lead here in this sub-forum.

If there are questions about language or things in Tokyo, I am usually good at getting back to PMs etc.

Perhaps you can put my name on a list of 'who might know' contact people for Japan.

I know Jim has been busy with life, but I am sure he would get back to you, as I would, if you PM'd him.
(Sorry Jim, it looks like I just volunteered you too.)

    Thanks.
