Armstrong Forge and Primble Hickory kitchen knives
Just got these from ebay. The three smaller are stamped Armstrong Forge, the large butcher knife (12" blade!) is only marked Primble Hickory on the handle(same Primble as the straight razor distributor I think). I removed most of the rust and tarnish with MAAS and 0000 wool, but there is some stubborn rust and pitting in different spots.
At very least I'd like to get the handles off to clean the rust from the tang, is removal of kitchen knife pins a similar process to straight razors? If I decide to replace the handles, are there any specifics I should pay attention to when shaping that differ from making razor scales?
Pics!
