Default Question on an Microtech Ultratech II SE ...... Vero Beach or Bradford ?

Buddy of mine and me are working on a trade. He has a nice Microtech Ultratech II SE. He says it is a Vero Beach model but the warranty paper in the box has a Bradford, PA address. The box has 122-2 stamped on one end.

The serial # is 00194, and the date on the pocket clip, is 09/05. The handle, at the business end is squared off, as opposed to the more rounded end I've seen on later models.

I've done some searches on google and I cannot come up with anything concrete beyond that they moved to Bradford in 2005.

So is my buddy correct that it is a Vero knife ? Could have been made before the move ? I can't make any sense of their serial number sequence. Were they for batches or overall production ?

There doesn't appear to be any place on the web I can find for a serial # repository for Microtechs.

    Anyone ?

Hey Jim thought I would try and help if you contact MicroTech direct the guys will look up your serial number and tell you exactly when and where it was made I still own my original HALO. Wish I still had my Talon proto from them. If you need it I have the contact info around here some where. Nice blades though all of them.

Thanks, I had a Halo back in the late '90s but was paranoid it would open in my pocket. I sold it to my then boss. He has quite a collection of them. Thanks for the tip. I'll phone microtech tomorrow. I didn't think it could be that simple.

Just called them. They have no idea. They don't keep records of that sort. Only warranty info. So I'm almost clueless. I registered on Blade Forums and I did find out that the box is incorrect. For a different knife. So with a 09/05 date the knife may have been made in Vero Beach, FL, but sold out of Bradford, or they may have located in Bradford after September of '05. No one at Microtech knew what the deal on that was.

Just a wild idea, but maybe the folks at Blade HQ where I've bought a lot of my stuff over the years would know? Maybe worth a try...or maybe they know a collector.

Thanks for the suggestion Harold, but they don't know. Nice fella on the horn though.

I’m looking for an ultratech or larger Microtech. If anyone is interested in a trade. I have. A large SR collection, 2 day/4 day/7 day sets, Escher/charnley forest Hones.

If you are willing to part with one...I’m sure we can come to an agreement for a trade.
