I would suggest that anyone buying or owning a liner lock knife assure that the lock is set/filed to completely line up within in the width of the mating part on the blade.
That can make them a lot safer!

I think the one pictures is a frame lock not a liner lock. I have had liner locks get dirt between the liner and the scales during use and couldn't fold them up with out cleaning which is harder than it sounds.
I have never felt unsafe or had a liner/frame lock fail but then again I seldom use a knife. in a way to put pressure on the spine. Never is to strong of a word!
I think the modern Winchester knifes are competitive in their price range.
