I posted the following in another thread and will repeat it here.
"I love seeing these handsaws. I just got a few in my Great grandfathers tool box. Should we start a thread under Sharp Things?"
No pictures from me at the moment but if I don't start now.....

Thanked: 351Lots of information to be found on the net, including youtube videos. Library might have some older books... When it comes to hand tool wood working, my favorite book is "The Seven Essentials of Woodworking" by Anthony Guidice. No, it's not a huge book with minute details about everything, but rather "Just the facts, Ma'am".
If you want it right now, this page appears to have most, if not all the information you need to sharpen a handsaw: Welcome to Vintage Saw's Saw Filing Treatise

Witnessed by Charlie his brother, Ole was a brother in law or soon to be if I remember right and Holt was a friend.

How about saw sets? Can we put them in here too? This is the only one I have and I'd love to see more to go along with these saws and saw vices. It's made by G.L. Holt, Hartford CT.

I think that any tool used to maintain or restore a handsaw would be welcome here.
I probably have 1/2 a dozen saw sets floating around. I have always thought they were cool and they are a dime a dozen.
Now I have to go find them and take a pic...
