Unhappy My Leatherman wave just broke

After maybe 8 years of flawless service the locking part of my Leatherman Wave has just snapped off leaving the blade and all able to swivel.

I will need to replace it, are there any other brands to consider or is Leatherman still the go to brand for quality multi-tools?
    Regards
    Nic

I've broke my Leatherman as well, but mine was the pliers. Snapped on side right off!

As far as I'm concerned, Leatherman is still the way to go. I've owned others and always go back to my Surge

I agree, for me leatherman is the way to go. Do they still have the 25 year warranty?

I believe they do, but it's a very limited warranty.
Not much you can claim about breakage

Yes. Here's the link to the warranty page on their website:

Thanks everyone, Leatherman it is then. I reckon its worth a go with that warranty, its useless as it is so no harm in giving it a go

Send it back with a note explaining the issue, they have replace or fixed in the past. Never heard of anyone not getting a new one or the other replaced.

I have a Gerber MultiPlier. It broke after many years of service. I shipped it back to them to see if it could be repaired. They sent a new replacement gratis. I am very happy with the customer service.

You could tell on my Leathernan I used the pliers for much more than their intended use.
But those things have held up quite well for the farm abuse, wait I mean use
