    Good grief, I didn't even think of that likely possibility. I guess I got of easy sharpening blunt 1950s stainless.

    I can't count the times I have heard that either before or after I have sharpened kinives for people..

    My wife resisted me wanting to sharpen 'her knife' for years. When it got to the point that she could not cut through a piece of raw chicken and I appealed "Please, let me sharpen that thing" she finally relented. Now she likes it and cannot believe how much better it works.

    The host was surprised when I didn't need electricity. She thought I was going to plug something in and go zip zip.
    Nice of your to sharpen their knives. I think a lot of people forget how much easier it is to prepare food with sharp cutlery.
    I don't know much about carving and wouldn't really want to be doing the whole carving/serving at the head of the table without finding out the best way to do it.

    And yet these are usually the same people that find cooking such a chore. Seems obvious to me. Yeah, it is a chore when it takes 30 minutes to cut up an onion. There's no point in trying to convince anyone. I mentally roll my eyes and keep my mouth shut. And anyone who knows me knows that it isn't easy for me to do so.

    A while ago I bought a ceramic knife and my wife was giving me a hard time because I was playing with and sharpening it and she said you just bought that today.
