    Amazing skills and machinery.
    There is a small company still making axes local to me. Pretty sure they use Swedish steel, and getting paid more than $1.25 an hour.

    Both of my grandfathers were blacksmiths. They made everything from horseshoes and ploughs to door handles. I've still got a pair of their anvils. Most of what they made is no longer in general use. My mother used to pump the bellows on the forge and had a scar from a piece of burning coal that went down inside the front of her clothes.
