Opinel No8 with a bubinga handle, mirror-polished inox stainless blade.

It rides great in a pair of trousers, as the flats on butt of handle help to keep vertical in pocket.

Kershaw Skyline. Simple, straightforward, easy to carry and takes an exceptional edge.
Made in the USA is another plus...

I have an Opinel, love it, I used to carry it in addition to my EDC, as it is so light. I kept a 4K edge on it to cut food, especially steaks.
My EDC has a 1K edge on it.

I've always meant to get myself one of those Opinels. I'm going to add it to my list in a minute and make a point of getting one. I like your idea of a food knife John.

I got so tired of getting to restaurants where the food was great & the knives were so dull, you had to struggle cut the food. So I carried it, Opinel, mostly on me, due to it's light weight. The other times I kept it in the car, to have ready. I kept it clean, antibacterial clean, then mineral oil & alcohol wipes prior to eating.
