A handmade knives "finka"...
These knives were made by my friend for me. The name "finka" or "Finn" is a Finnish knife.
I have a few knife , I come from Puerto Rico in there you have to carry a knife for protect your self ,now in miami no, I always carry a camillus boot knife and in my back a Gerber freeman fold , then was I start the collection no for bowie ( I have few cheap bowie like Ontario , cold steel , ) but I love small knife like Al mar , small camillus .
Thanks. That's what i thought. They remind very much, and specially the first one- just traditional work knives we use and carry here. By saying work knife i do not mean anything negative - a knife of that shape is just perfect multitool for whatever you might need.
As a general rule of thumb here the blade lenght should never be more than a width of your palm. Any longer blades makes it difficult to control the blade perfectly.
Some great stuff in here. In a couple days I'll post my collection.
You guys have some really nice knives there. How many of you use them versus collect/look at them?
I've got a couple of swords and used to practice AT Iai, but haven't gotten to it for a couple months. Top two are quite old...
Guess which two are fakes/ebay burns....

Here is a (very) small part of my own collection. Just what I could grab in under a minute. An experiment I had a few years ago. I have more in my collection than this. This was just what I had close to hand. Of course my collection has also been added to since this photo.

This is one that I made myself. I have a couple of others that I made for myself, but most of those I made, were made and sold.

The top one (Bowie) is made from a Harley primary chain, has file work and the handle is stag. the second (bird & trout) has cocoabolo scales, fancy pins and some file work. Both were made by Hal Solem. The third is by Lee, made of star damascas, rain drop mikune bolsters and ivory scales.
Finally got around to taking some pics of my ka-bars.
Im sure you can tell that i love these knives, why else would i have four if i didnt?
All are full tang and black carbon coated. But for more details from left to right:
Short Black Ka-bar: Blade 5 1/4, Overall 9 1/4 Handle made out of Kraton G
Serrated Long Ka-bar: Blade 7, Overall 11 3/4. Handle made out of Kraton G
Straight Long Ka-bar: Blade 7, Overall 11 3/4. Handle made out of Kraton G
(If you look close you can see this is a pretty bet up knife. The Black on the blade is pretty much all burned off, it got used heavily last comping season for firewood chipping and coal stirring)
Straight Long Ka-bar: Blade 7 , Overall 11 7/8. Stacked Leather Handle
