Knife collecting
Dear friends,
In an society such as this I can imagine that things with sharp edges in general peak interest. My reason for wanting to shave with a straight razor are just that, I like sharp things XD
I myself are especially into Damascus knives and wanted to see if there are other collectors among us.
Here's little picture of one of my knives and my travel sharpening kit. You see: Bottle of Skyer's Secret Recipe Honing Oil, Diamond coated sharpening rod, Half yellow half blue natural coticule wetstone and a medium / fine ceramic sharpening rod.
The knive you see is a 100% genuine 400 layer tamahagane blade. This baby is actually so sharp you can shave with it (I tried )
Any other collectors around willing to show their stuff?
P.S. I am a fan of any kind of high carbon knives (not just damascus). Some of my favorites are Opinel and Svord Peasant knives

Nice knife!
I don't collect, but have a few that I carry & use. My EDC's are a Strider PT & a Hinderer XM-18 3" flipper.
No photo's right now though.
They're both pretty uncommon knives in the UK. The Hinderer's pretty uncommon anyway in that size!

I have a few knives actually.
Most of them are KA-BAR army knives which I find great for camping and hunting.
Other than that nothing too crazy.
I have been looking at some samurai swords tho. I just want one for the incredible skill it takes to make such a sword.

Very nice knives you have, gentlemen. Some of Amunds knives look just like Scandinavian.
I do not actually collect knives, but somehow old knives seem to find their way to my house. I mostly use them as a work knives in every day works, such as woodworking etc.
First two knives are large 'leuku's' that are very common and popular in the army here. The top leuku is from my army days and i use it mostly to chop firewood. Third from the top is a Kalashnikov bayonet/wire cutter. Rest are just typical work knives. Little tiny Marttiini on the bottom belongs to my wife, and the one above it is a special knife with a bronze blade. It is antimagnetic and was used in a Navy minesweeper.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'
