Howevers, nowadays it's just most common work knife and utility tool, used by construction workers etc. Sold almost everywhere, grocery stores, gas stations, and it's cheap like milk. SS version costs between 3-5 €, i have no idea if carbon version is still available.
I have not tried to hone ss version but the older carbon version takes a good edge easily and keeps it as well.

    From Wiki:
The forging of Mora knife dates back to medieval sword-smithing tradition. The blade of many Mora knives is of laminated construction, forged of three slabs of steel. The heart section of the blade has traditionally been very hard crucible steel, sandwiched between softer but tougher steel. The result is a tool which does not break easily due to the tough outer steel, and takes and holds a good edge due to the hard inner part.

I'm not sure if Mora is the same thing but in Australia we have these available to us. A mate of mine owns one of the axes made by this mob. Beautiful to use. I would love to get one of the knives for myself. Roselli Knives of Finland

    Love it when that happens!
Another knife I have my heart set on too. Specifically the NL1 Thor...But I would settle for the 'Oden'. The price of the knives are very high though. Quality does come at a price I suppose, but the wife won't allow me to sell off one of my children for a decent knife. Not that I'm short of a decent knife, but you can never have enough decent knives really. A bit like razors in a way .

Well I am not sure I want to label myself a collector lol... I kind of amassed these over time. I have probably given away more to others but every single one of these blades has been used and are my "keepers." Some have been used harder than others, with the exception of the Bowie on the top left. Though it's got to be the best "feeling" knife I own, I just don't have it in me to take it out into "the field."

And yes - I can throw the throwers. It's kind of fun. Unfortunately I have lost my throwing ax... that was a blast!

With respect to the folders, I have discovered, just like handguns, I don't like safety's. Though the "pretty" SOG with fancy scales has assisted opening and it's built like a tank - the safety freaks me out. I could glue it open I guess - but that wouldn't do it for me so I never carry it anymore. But it is a great knife if you don't mind safety's.

With only 11 knives I would say not. You'd need a few more than that to be considered 'family'.

Yes. Obviously late to the party, but I have one of these. Best 7$ ever spent in the knife department.

Default $1.00 Mora at a Yard Sale

The boy & I have been hitting yard sales the past three weekends. Yesterday, Saturday we did good at one house. This K.J. Eriksson Mora was in the bottom of a box of tools for sale, had a $1.00 sticker on it. Snatched it & had my son clean it & put an edge on it. He has been learning to hone knives for the past 8 months. A dual grit Norton carborundum was used, then an old beaten Swaty finished her off.

That's a pretty interesting collection! With respect to your folders - you aren't loyal to any one type I see - a little of everything really! Nice!

Almost everything. I've yet to have a Framelock.

I'm a little loyal to one specific brand though. I've bought mostly A.G. Russell knives. I like the mans designs and I like the man. I got to spend some time with him and his wife back in August and he's got my friendship for life.
