    Default Another Knife

My latest and greatest. The blade is 1/8th in thick 1095 and is about 2.4 in long. The handle is Ipe and some random hardwood scrap I picked up and a store. The overall length is just under 6.5in

I know the finish on the blade is bad, but my mom 'borrowed' it and it rusted after words, so I was forced to clean it up.

I shaved with it. So probably. LOL It whittles nicely and fits well in the hand. It just has too much weight in the handle, but with a knife that small it is to be expected.

Perhaps some effort in shaping the handle may help reduce the weight. Without wanting to seem disrespectful of your efforts, the handle design is reminscent of a broomstick. if you added a little contouring to the handle it would reduce the chance of the knife turning in your hand during use. All in all a nice skinning knife.

Your knife design made me think of this. My next knife purchase.

The handle shape works for me and I really rather like it as is, just not the weight. But that may come from the Ipe as it is rather dense stuff, to say the least. Though if I do find the handle shape to be unsatisfactory I have no issues reshaping it. Its about what works, not the look, at least to me.
