Thanked: 1Another Knife
My latest and greatest. The blade is 1/8th in thick 1095 and is about 2.4 in long. The handle is Ipe and some random hardwood scrap I picked up and a store. The overall length is just under 6.5in
I know the finish on the blade is bad, but my mom 'borrowed' it and it rusted after words, so I was forced to clean it up.

Thanked: 983Perhaps some effort in shaping the handle may help reduce the weight. Without wanting to seem disrespectful of your efforts, the handle design is reminscent of a broomstick. if you added a little contouring to the handle it would reduce the chance of the knife turning in your hand during use. All in all a nice skinning knife.

Your knife design made me think of this. My next knife purchase.

Thanked: 1The handle shape works for me and I really rather like it as is, just not the weight. But that may come from the Ipe as it is rather dense stuff, to say the least. Though if I do find the handle shape to be unsatisfactory I have no issues reshaping it. Its about what works, not the look, at least to me.
